Deaf Community Victories

We are amazed at the many souls God has reached in Burundi!

God continues to work in exciting ways in the deaf ministry in Burundi as three new brothers were baptized into Christ on October 19, 2021, bringing the total of deaf disciples to six in just a few short months. Niyonkuru Thierry, Kubwimana Ferdinand, Ndayizeye Abraham are from the small village of Gihanga about thirty kilometers from the Bujumburu, the capital of Burundi. They were met by Romain Yehe, from the deaf ministry in the Ivory Coast, and Janvier Nkurikye, a young deaf disciple in Bujumburu, as they traveled the country preaching the gospel, studying the bible and building relationships within the deaf community in Burundi.

The Africa Missions Association (AMA) coordinated with donors in the USA and evangelist Tom Akelo in Bujumburu to send Romain to Burundi for about a month to disciple Janvier and help him study the Bible and lead effective Bible Talks with the deaf. Romain is a civil servant in the Ivory Coast and dreams to be a part of the fulltime ministry in the future.

God blessed the labor of their hands in a great way and we give Him the glory!
